Genesis

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, IIT Kharagpur, was established in 1968. Initially, the school operated out of an old building located near Tikka within the IIT Kharagpur campus. This early phase marked the foundation of what would grow into a leading institution for holistic education. In November 2012, the school relocated to a new building, expanding its capacity and facilities. It now houses three sections for Classes 1 to 5 and four sections for Classes 6 to 12. The school is situated approximately 7.4 kilometers from Kharagpur Railway Station and 7.9 kilometers from the Kharagpur Bus Stand
